Location is one of the important factors to consider when choosing a care facility for yourself or for a loved one. Having family and/or friends as close as possible will make visiting and providing support so much easier than having to travel a distance.

Aroha provides a high‐quality physical environment to ensure the well‐being, safety and independence of older people in frail health Aroha is often described by visitors as having a homelike and friendly feel. Our indoors are kept clean, warm, safe and well maintained.

Our outdoors is also kept safe and well maintained with safe walkways for our residents to enjoy colourful gardens, vast flat paved areas, and sheltered seating.


The Benefits

Nursing care

image1 We provide 24 hour nursing care which is managed by our dedicated team of Registered Nurses and experienced caregivers. Our contracted General Practitioner (GP) visits weekly and is oncall to visit whenever required. Our GP is also happy to meet or talk to family at a suitable time. We work closely with Te Omanga Hospice and the Hutt Valley District Health Board Older Persons Rehabilitation Service (OPRS) to ensure our residents receive the specialist care needed to maintain their optimum health.

Accommodation

image1 This is an important factor when moving from your home. Aroha provides fully furnished bedrooms with ensuites. Televisions are installed in every room and we are happy for residents to make their room their own by decorating their room with wall hangings, photos and other treasured possessions.

 

 

Meals and dining experience

image1 We consider as very important in improving our residents quality of life.
We provide nutritious home cooked meals including refreshments and snacks at morning/afternoon tea and supper times.
On admission, and at any other time, options for special dietary needs, likes and dislikes are noted and provided for.Our menu is reviewed annually by a dietitian and we welcome feedback and suggestions from residents in menu planning.
